The influence of construction on design and design on constructon is the fundamental premise that shapes our process and defines our design approach.
Our intention is to make buildings that last and heighten the daily experiences of our clients.
We strive to contribute to our place and to promote the significance of thoughtful and intentional design in our community. Design does matter.
We are a full service, award winning, architecture practice, led by partners Katherine Hogan and Vincent Petrarca, striving for the highest level of quality. We value a collaborative process where all voices – clients, interns, trades, consultants – are heard. Our goal, our service, is to present high quality options (lateral thinking) so our clients can make informed choices and craft their spaces and details based on their values and situation.
The journey from an idea to its realization as a built form is unclear in the beginning of a project, but through meetings, passion and shared experiences with our clients we discover an authentic architecture together.
Our portfolio of work shares similar traits, but each project is very different. We are inspired that each unique vision of our clients is the catalyst for change and variation in our work. Clients bring new possibilities; clients make us see things differently.
In our work, through design and on site, construction becomes a valuable filter for our architecture. Working ‘backwards’ is our methodology, having an understanding of how buildings are constructed can be a valuable influence for how we design. Our projects come from many contributors, both thinkers and makers.
We perceive the realization of a project, from drawing to construction, as our craft — a continuous search and refinement through process.
